The wait is over, 5D Mk3 is out.
It not all that I hoped for but its still has some interesting features that I can’t wait to play with. I did hope that they would give us a mirror less version and announce for at least 2k video (4k was the dream). New features are like: Digic5+ sensor, HDR shooting, Multiple exposure, Dual layer metering, Dual card slot (CF+SD), 60p recording (720p) and Mic output, face detection autofocus in live view (not sure if it works during recording). Silent shooting is something I have been waiting for to use when shooting on film set. There are a bunch of new feature and improvements that you can see for you self at their website.
But the price level has also gone up unfortunately and for many it will be to expensive. Personally I think its to high when I think of that there is little there that Canon did not already have one way or the other. I would have like to see news on autofocus during video which would help a lot when working on a steadicam.
Today’s gonna be spent editing a small behind the scenes video for Carlottas Village glasses. Just found the nicest little soundtrack.

Music Video
We just finished shooting our first music video last sunday. Its for a danish artist called Marc KD and the song is called Streets Of Copenhagen. All the footage is shot on a 50mm Iscorama anamorphic lens mounted on a Canon 5D Mk2. We mainly used a Tiffen Steadicam and a shoulder Rig for support. Hopefully we can post the video early febuary so stay tuned.

The turkish company Edelkrone (former HandyFilmTools) just launched a pocket rig.
It looks really handy and compact.
Phaseone IQ140
My IQ140 digital back from Phaseone arrived today, finally. Look farward to shooting with it, expect it to be a lot faster then the previous model and the embrace the joy of a touchscreen. I also want to test it outside for extreme long exposures.

Is it just a coincidence that these two big boys happen to announce something long awaited today?
Hardly. The rumors say that Canon will announce the S35 4K today and that is just up RED´s alley. So most likely no 5D Mk3 for us at the moment but I here something about new lenses so I will take a close look. But still a 4K camera is interesting for os still photographers because that gives us the opportunity to take advantage of frame grabbing stills from video files.
Iscorama Anamorphic Lens
We have just purchased a Iscorama 50mm Anamorphic lens which we have high hopes for and hope to do some filming with in the near future! We will upload some test material as soon as we have some.
The Lighthouse
This is the first attempt with my new time-lapse dolly. We spent a night by Sletterhage Fyr, a charming little lighthouse on the east coast of Jylland, Denmark. It´s a unique place because the ships sail just a few meters from the shore and to see and hear a huge ship sail by in the dark is absolutely stunning.Many thanks to the nice people that manage the lighthouse for letting us stay the night in the lighthouse, that was a unforgettable experience.
We hope to bring you many time-lapses in the future..
